Gypsum Panel Replacements
Gypsum Panel Replacement is provided by Barrier Corp. whenever the existing gypsum panel has deteriorated, usally due to water.
“Gyp Panels,” as they are called, are not pre-manufactured panels. They are made by installing 1/2" to 5/8" formboard inside the bulb tees , then installing Keydeck Mesh (chicken wire) over the formboard and finally topping the formboard and Keydeck mesh with gypsum grout to the top of the bulb tees.
In cases where approval is obtained, the use of a 2" Tectum panel set inside the bulb tees and then grouted in place with the gypsum grout can provide a more cost efficient alternative.
